1. Preheat oven to 350º. Grease a cookie sheet.
2. Melt chocolate and butter in a saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat, keep in saucepan and add sugar and vanilla.
3. Stir in eggs and mix until smooth and glossy. Add dry ingredients and nuts to the saucepan. Mix until completely blended.
4. Drop round teaspoonfuls onto the cookie sheet. For chewiest results, refrigerate for 1 hour. Bake for 9 minutes.
Variations:
Stir in ½ cup dried cherries, cranberries or raisins.
Stir in ½ cup chunky peanut butter (omit walnuts).
